The Line
Layer 1 Utility is a telecommunications construction contractor built around one thing: fiber done right. We place it, bore it, splice it, and stand behind it.
Fiber is no longer a luxury; it's the backbone of everything. But a network is only as good as the crew that builds it. Layer 1 Utility exists to be the contractor carriers, ISPs, and municipalities can hand a route to and trust it gets done: on spec, on schedule, and safe.
We self-perform the full construction lifecycle. That means one accountable team for field engineering and make-ready, aerial and underground placement, directional boring, splicing and testing, and the restoration that leaves a job site cleaner than we found it. No finger-pointing between subs, just one crew that owns the build.
How we work
Every foreman is OSHA 30 trained. Every splicer is certified on the gear they run. Our project managers live in the field, not behind a desk, so problems get solved at the pole or in the trench instead of in an email thread three days later.
When it can't wait
Cut fiber doesn't keep business hours. When a backbone goes down or a storm takes out a span, we mobilize crews around the clock to re-route, splice, and rebuild, getting carriers and their subscribers back online fast.
